World/New
Age Music has afforded us artistic integrity and the most incredible
support and promotion. Having spent years in the Rock/Pop industry,
we recall spending more time promoting the art, as to creating the
art. In this genre we make the music and you folks make it happen for
us! We want to let you know that we do read the letters and e-mails you send to us, however we are not always able to write back to everyone. I will try to answer some of the most frequently asked questions here. Yes, we are working on another CD. We were ready to record it this fall when we decided at the last moment to scratch the material and write music with a more obvious evolution. We try to depart somewhat, giving each CD a different twist yet keeping our defined sound. This next album will hopefully introduce instrumental accompaniment not previously recorded on our other CDs. I’m not quite sure, but maybe cello and or some wind instruments. No, we aren’t performing live in the near near future. We are taking a break to refresh, write and collaborate with other artists. I am also finishing my teaching credentials. We just finished a project with Tony La Stella (opera singer/movie actor). Together we recorded “Belle” (Beauty & the Beast) in a very Broadway fashion…meets Carlos Santana. We also recorded “Mama Mia” an opera piece where William and I bring a Latin flavor to Italy. We will keep you updated on this release. Many of you ask what it is like to write, record and perform live as a married couple. Some of you find this romantic! We love that one! Actually it can be quite wonderful at times. Just like any married couple we bicker, and what would that be about? Music, of course…. two passionate, opinionated artists, it’s bound to happen. (O.K., one opinionated artist) Sometimes the writing process is like magic and it flows effortlessly, at other times we have to work at it. Sometimes we strongly disagree and even have to hang it up for an evening. Performing live together is an amazing experience. We liken it to a flying trapeze act, especially if it’s just the two of us. Where one stops, the other picks up. We can’t miss a beat; we have to be there to catch the other. If we miss, it’s a bummer, especially if we are playing only the two of us. We realize that having this experience together is rare and yes, it is a blessing that we don’t take for granted. Yes, our whole family is musical. There is at any given time, music coming out of the woodwork in our home. Our children are guitar players and write music too. It’s crazy! Even our youngest one has written and performed her music live. We all play different styles of music but we over lap with one another in our tastes. It makes it a fun because we jam with all members of the family and it’s never dull. Some of our favorite bands these days are U2, Solas and Nickel Creek. William and I are on a Led Zeppelin kick too. We are playing our electric guitars together, trading off Jimi Page licks late at night. I think we’re driving our family nuts. William plays a recently acquired hand crafted, Lowden guitar from Dublin, Ireland. We can’t wait to record with this one! I play a Hirade classical. Having played every Spanish guitar in town, I ended up choosing this one because it’s tone was very pleasing to me for the Celticish music we were playing. Many
of you ask where we live. Presently we are on the out skirts of Seattle,
WA. We are entertaining the idea of relocating to perhaps Santa Fe,
New Mexico. We will keep you updated on this. Feel free to send us
info or your own experiences about Santa Fe.
